Philosophy
Four Points Acupuncture aims to provide a source of health, guidance, and education to patients. Each person has a unique journey towards achieving a sense of balance and wellness in life. The practice is here to support you on your journey and to promote a better quality of life. Chinese medicine is based around interactive relationships found in the the natural world. These relationships are reflected in the body. When they are in a state of balance, health and vitality result. It is this state of alignment and harmony that we will work together to achieve. |
About your practicioner...
Welcome to Four Points Acupuncture! I am Michelle LaPointe, B.A., MSOM, L.Ac., L.M.T. For over 12 years, I have been involved in health and wellness practices and treatments, including acupuncture, massage and nutritional health.
I am a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a Licensed Massage Therapist. I grew up in Maine, where I began to develop an increasing interest in health and medicine from both personal and familial influences. Taking this interest to college, I self designed my degree at the University of Vermont to focus on Environmental Education and Western Herbalism. After moving to Colorado in 2004, I continued to expand my scope of practice with an 1000 hour certificate in Massage Therapy from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2006. During my schooling, I focused on Neuromuscular Therapy and Shiatsu, and a full spectrum of other modalities.
My interest in Shiatsu continued to grow and led me to pursue further education in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I received my Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado in 2011. The comprehensive 4-year degree covered both Eastern and Western medical studies, internships, and clinical hours. I achieved this degree in the accelerated 3-year program, during which I practiced in an number of locations in and around Boulder, Colorado. This included hours at local senior centers, clinics, and focuses including sports medicine, women's health, and pain management.
I am happy to call Nederland home for over 12 years. I live in the mountains surrounding Nederland with my husband Nate, son Sullivan, and playful pup Josie. With my practice of Four Points Acupuncture and Massage, I aim to provide healthcare and support to the community that I live in. I strive to serve and provide Nederland and the surrounding communities with care that is effective, comprehensive, and well rounded in physical, emotional and spiritual health.
